Brief: The state is located on the southeast coast of the country. The main regional Tamil language is known to be approx. 2000 years old. Tamilnadu is one of the most attractive state with its traditional music and dances. Many temples of Tamilnadu has the most distinct architecture in the world. While visiting these fascinating temples through out the Tamilnadu, some great architecture and lively structure can be seen. The state capital Chennai previously known as Madras is the fourth largest city in India. The city has been a textile manufacturing centre for many years. It still have the textile business along with many booming industries like heavy and light vehicles assembly, cigarettes, Engineering, Motorcycle assembly and many others. Chennai is also a large centre for Tamil Filmmaking. Tamilnadu has many fine wild life reserves, good beaches and some very exciting hill station. Udagamandalam (Ooty) is one of the best hill stations in the state.

Villupuram Mayiladuthurai Nagore Train Started

At last the most awaited trains through villupuram - mayiladuthurai -Nagore route has starting from today onwards. It will be a dream of thanjavur district peoples. The villupuram - mayiladuthurai -Nagore gauge conversion project has taken more than 2 years and now it is open for passenger trains from today 23.04.2010. The Railway has announced the following trains in this route:

OPENING OF VILLUPURAM - MAYILADUTHURAI SECTION FOR PASSENGER TRAFFIC


The gauge converted Villupuram -Mayiladuthurai Main Line broad gauge section will be opened for passenger traffic today (23.4.2010).


The first train on this section T.No.817 Villupuram - Mayiladuthurai Passenger will leave Villupuram at 18.20 hrs. and arrive Mayiladuthurai at 22.10 hrs.


The following trains will be introduced on the dates mentioned against each.

11) T.No. 6101/6102 Chennai Egmore - Rameswaram Daily Express, now running via. Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli will be diverted to run via. Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Tiruchchirappalli w.e.f. 1.8.2010 from both ends.

12) T.No. 6736 Tiruchendur - Chennai Egmore Weekly Express, now running via. Tiruchchirappalli, Vriddhachalam will be diverted to run via. Tiruchchirappalli, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai w.e.f. 29.7.2010. T.No.6735 Chennai Egmore - Tiruchendur Weekly Express will run via. Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Tiruchchirappalli w.e.f. 30.7.2010.

13) T.No.114 Villupuram-Tambaram Passenger will leave Villupuram at 04.45 hrs. instead of 05.05 hrs. w.e.f. 25.04.2010.
